A hollow bottom tray comprised of Tigerwood with a beautiful gold-brown and red-brown with various exotic patterns. This dice tray is hollowed out slightly on both sides which creates a nice hollow sound when you roll.
Tigerwood is a heavy and very dense wood with a rating of 2,160lbf on the Janka Hardness. It is even harder than Purple Heart (1,860), Merbau (1,925), Hickory (1,820), Wenge (1,630), and many other commercial hardwoods.
The Janka hardness test measures the amount of force required to embed a 0.444 inch (11.28mm) diameter steel ball into a piece of wood to the depth of half the ball's diameter. The results are measured with various units, in the United States the scores are represented in pounds-force(lbf). Woods with a low ranking on the hardness scale are more prone to dents and dings, but this will be resistant to daily wear and tear!
